E-Bike and Moped Accident Cases

Moped and e-bike accidents are on the rise as more people rely on them for affordable, eco-friendly transportation. Unfortunately, inattentive or speeding drivers often fail to share the road safely. At RedStone Law, our attorneys — Mike, Morgan, and Mark — represent injured riders throughout Kentucky and Tennessee. We move quickly to secure evidence, identify fault, and fight for the compensation you deserve for medical costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering.

How We Handle Moped and E-Bike Crash Cases

1. Immediate Scene Investigation
We visit the accident scene as soon as possible. Small pieces of evidence — skid marks, debris, or camera footage — can become key proof of fault.

2. Witness and Officer Interviews
Our retired police investigator and legal team interview witnesses and review all reports for accuracy. We ensure no bias or errors against the moped or e-bike rider.

3. Preserve Photos, Video & “Black Box” Data
Surveillance and vehicle data can vanish quickly. We secure dash-cam, traffic, and “black box” data before it’s lost or destroyed.

4. Protect Hidden Evidence
We immediately send preservation notices to secure critical evidence held by at-fault drivers, rental agencies, or insurers — including phone records, maintenance logs, and vehicle data.

5. Free Case Evaluation
We review your case, explain how insurance applies, and outline what compensation may be available to you.

6. Custom Plan of Action
Once you hire us, we create a personalized plan tailored to your situation. You’ll have 24/7 access through the RedStone Law Client Portal, or we can mail updates if preferred.

“Our team is committed to clear communication, diligent investigation, and strong advocacy every step of the way.”— Attorneys Mike, Morgan & Mark

How DOES redstone LAW Determine fault for an Accident case?

Drivers have a duty to share the road safely. We investigate and prove fault when motorists:

  • Follow too closely or pass unsafely
  • Fail to slow down or allow safe clearance
  • Drive distracted or under the influence
  • Ignore traffic signals or right-of-way laws
  • Fail to maintain a proper lookout, especially at night
  • Use a cell phone while driving
  • Operate a poorly maintained vehicle

WHAT DOES redstone LAW DO IN A Accident Case?

We handle the investigation, evidence collection, and insurance negotiations from start to finish:

  • Preserve and analyze all evidence (video, data, photos)
  • Work with accident reconstruction experts to prove liability
  • Identify and document serious or hard-to-find injuries like head trauma or hip tears
  • Use clear visuals and charts to communicate your damages
  • Negotiate for maximum settlement value or prepare for trial

When necessary, our in-house media team creates visual evidence that helps juries and adjusters understand exactly what happened and how your life has changed.

Insurance Company Tactics

Insurance companies often try to:

  • Blame the rider for their own injuries
  • Downplay the seriousness of injuries
  • Offer lowball settlements or delay claims
  • Misinterpret medical records to reduce payouts
  • Discourage you from hiring a lawyer

Our attorneys know these tactics — and how to overcome them to protect your rights.

HOW IS redstone LAW PAID?

You pay nothing upfront.

We work on a contingency fee basis, so our payment is a percentage of your recovery. While many firms charge 40%, our fee is one-third (1/3) — a rate we’ve maintained for over 25 years.

All fees and expenses are transparent and in writing. You’ll receive:

  • A free consultation and case evaluation
  • 24/7 client portal access for updates
  • Fast responses from our team
  • Direct communication with Attorneys Mike, Morgan, and Mark

With decades of experience in personal injury and wrongful death across Kentucky and Tennessee, RedStone Law is ready to fight for you.

KENTUCKY and tennessee e-bike and moped laws

Kentucky Law – KRS §189.294: Use of Cell Phones by Moped Operators

  • Drivers under 18 are prohibited from using a personal communication device while operating a moped, motorcycle, or vehicle on public roads.
  • Exceptions apply only in emergencies (such as contacting law enforcement or medical services).
  • The law aims to prevent distracted driving and reduce crashes involving young riders.

Tennessee Law – T.C.A. §55-8-171 & §55-8-173: Operation of Motor-Driven Cycles and Bicycles

  • Moped and e-bike operators must follow the same traffic rules as motor vehicles.
  • Riders are required to keep as close to the right-hand edge of the roadway as practicable, except when turning left or avoiding hazards.
  • Motorists must allow at least three feet of clearance when passing a moped, scooter, or e-bike.
  • All drivers must exercise due care to avoid collisions with smaller or slower vehicles.

Both Kentucky and Tennessee enforce strict laws requiring motorists to share the road responsibly and protect vulnerable riders. When these duties are ignored, RedStone Law holds negligent drivers accountable.
